Hi there,
The Association for Light and Life wants to acknowledge some of the groups and efforts that we have been working to support this year.
The Urantia Book Fellowship has been working to both bring the readership together while getting their message from the revelation out to the world. We are pleased with some of the transitions and have experience working with Paula Thompson who is a supportive and dynamic presence at the Fellowship office, and ALL is excited to have both Robert Burns and Susan Cook from the Fellowship planning to speak at our upcoming gathering. Last year we did a lump sum donation to the Fellowship, and we have recently approved an ongoing good faith grant to the Fellowship of $20 per month for book printing and distribution to be reviewed annually. We are also exploring the possibility of a translations donation to the Urantia Foundation, as well.
The Harp of God Publishing, headed up by Marty Greenhut and friends are in the midst of publishing Welmek's Lessons on Prayer, which Rick Voss had gleaned from the lessons and submitted for possible publication. Gerdean, Marty, and William Hayes have worked together to edit, format, illustrate the cover, and get this to the publisher. ALL has decided to offer them a matching funds grant, which Harp will talk more about soon. We hope that those who can support this project will aid in making it a reality.
Common Ground has put itself out on the road with the music, poetry and creativity of various personalities, including currently Mark Austin, Susan Wright Mogilka, Mark Turnbull, Cristina Seaborn, Dave Holt, Bob Devine, and others. Their message is all about finding peace, one heart at a time, through personal experience with God and the recognition of the siblinghood of all the human family. Playing at churches, coffeehouses, pubs, and universities, Common Ground has been on a mission of goodwill and good cheer around the country. ALL has supported the work of Common Ground with seed money for expenses this year, and hopes that this mission can expand and grow to share the message with as many as possible. Common Ground will perform at Unity Village this summer for the conference, so we hope you can all enjoy the fruits of their labor along with us.
The gathering at Unity Village near Kansas City, MO, June 7-10, has people coming from across the Urantia movement and beyond. With about 60 people registered so far and a month to go, we look forward to a wonderful weekend retreat with each other focused on service, worship, and fellowship in a unity without uniformity atmosphere. Dolores Nice and Jeanette Schafer from the Retreat Network will be leading a retreat to kick things off, and then the weekend will branch from there to explore various aspects of service. If people still want to register, they can get information at www.associationforlightandlife.org under the Events links. Or you can contact Eugenia, our host and logistics chair, for information at ebryan at sunflower.com or 785-843-0113. Lodging rooms are becoming scarce, so decide soon. We have a few people that might share a room, so contact Eugenia about that, as well.
We look forward to sharing thoughts and ideas with you at any time. You can contact ALL at all at onewest.net or at our website www.associationforlightandlife.org.
Sincerely,
Bob for the
Coordinating Council
Personally, we can activate the revelation in our lives through worship and service. Together in our activation, we can become a force far greater than the sum of our parts.
