0802 AB Jack here.
By the measurements of your time frame, my absence from this channel may
appear to be a very long time indeed. While gone I took a small vacation,
spent time in classes, and was able to meet many many new new friends and
make many new observations about life on Urantia.
I note with joy that during my absence this subject channel has greatly
improved and is now functioning with renewed willingness and energy.
My greetings to Gerdean who has a good sense of the history and evolution
of my relationship to this subject, as does he to her. Hence she will be
able to be used as a conduit for the receipt of my notes. As time passes I
hope to be less formal and cover different subjects --- some of which may be
controversial.
Historically I first attempted to make contact with this subject in 1955.
During the 60s and throughout the following years our relationship continued
until the mid 1980s when the subject terminated our relationship for personal
reasons. I wish to add that I made all effort to introduce the Urantia Book
to him during those early years and he finally accepted it in 1967.

So here I am today Circa August 2001

I wish to share a few of my thoughts regarding Humility. This is
something we all could use more of and that includes myself. Webster's New
World dictionary defines HUMILITY as absence of pride or self-assertion. My
order of Midwayers were confronted with this problem and I often think this
problem is directly linked to ones relationship with their Thought Adjuster.
In one of the classes I attended we had a very long discussion about this
very issue. So much of this discussion was centered on PRIDE. One classmate
ventured to use the example of those of us who find ourselves presenting
information as if it were direct from God. It was suggested that we should
always ask ourselves what are our credentials and where is the authority from
whence we speak.
That evolved to FAITH and the admonitions discussed in the UB about if
you have faith have it unto your self. Someone ventured that there was
nothing new, just new people to learn the material. That statement brought
the thought that divisions of belief on Urantia were perfect examples of how
a lack of Humility interfered with relationships which reflected ones
relationship with the Thought Adjuster.

We oiled the wheels. perhaps I can discuss the problems connected with
pain avoidance next.
Jack.
