<DIV>Dear Listees:</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The following announcement refers to the web address <A
href="http://tmarchives.com">http://tmarchives.com</A></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Finally, we have reached the point that we may announce the existence of a
teacher search site on the web. AS of today, it is open for business, and
though it still requires some additional work, the search function may be used
with reliability.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Below, I have reproduced a small section of a search I conducted using the
word "candle". The search of the archive is through keywords and the
keyword is returned to you in the appropriate transcript highlighted with a line
number it is found in.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Looking at the reproduced SEARCH section for "candle" below, the
software tells us that among the 1,500 transcripts archived, 14 of them contain
the word "candle".</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>It then brings up the archived name of the transcript which is
always shown as . . .</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=#008080><STRONG>Teacher name, transcript date,
general information in the transcript and any other info thought
important</STRONG>.</FONT> </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>No spaces occur in the title block. The date of June 12 2002 is a
technical entry showing when the archive was organized and entered for
software manipulation. Ignore it.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Click on the title and the entire transcript will appear for
examination. You may cut and paste from the transcript to your
word processor using the regular browser functions in windows or
Mac.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>BLUE Titles are titles one has not opened. Titles in
RED indicate you have opened the transcript.</DIV>

<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The site allows an EXPANDED SEARCH. Use this is you wish more
than 50 returns to be shown. You may set the number of returns in Advanced
Search.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The site will eventually allow everyone to browse the collection
alphabetically by teacher. For now "BROWSE" is disabled.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Everyone who has the CD issued in March of this year has the full
collection at their fingertips, but because of compatibility issues and software
limitations it was not searchable. WE have converted that CD to HTML files
and through the good offices of Jason Shane and our provider, who
has modified the code of the search engine for the special problems we
encountered.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I can not emphasize enough that this site is a product of all our efforts
and that it can only be made better by volunteering transcripts not found in the
archive to improve the collection. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>You are welcome to link this site to your site if you wish.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>More work has to be done on the site so please bear with us if you go in
and find something not working. My email address is on the opening page to
send me files, information, and comments as you see fit.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Give it a try.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Sincerely,</DIV>
