apace; it has matured greatly, but what you do not see are the many groups that
are prepared to support what we are doing, those that are secular and those that
are already connected with some spiritual forum or group.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>We know that the small population of the
people who read <I>The Urantia Book</I>, and the smaller yet group who follow
the Teaching Mission and Magisterial Mission will be ready to step forward when
the developments are obvious to them that something is afoot and that much could
happen.</P>

advice regarding reading George Lakoff’s, <I>Don’t Think of an
Elephant.</I><SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>He says that he found
the book interesting and wonders if you are willing to discuss some of the
elements of the book in more detail?</P>

style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Yes, I would be glad to.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>In general terms, yes, Lakoff’s book is
a wonderful adjunct to what we are doing.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>It is a natural step to think of the empowerment—political empowerment of
the work that we are doing to assist your world in ways of moving ahead through
legislative processes.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>As you know,
in the United States the political system is bogged down and very dysfunctional
at this time, as the political parties have become so divisive and even divided
within themselves.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>This comes at a
critical time in the evolution and development of democratic governments and
societies and economies.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>This
creates a tremendous amount of confusion for your populations.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal> <o:p></o:p></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal>There is a large middle section
of population that is very much unhappy with the dysfunctional right and the
left, and there is no one in the middle to lead them forward with any rational,
or logical, or reasonable way to proceed.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>This situation offers us a tremendous opportunity to leave off with
thoughts of the liberals and the conservatives in order to provide a rational
middle ground.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>We are not talking
about moderates; we are not talking about liberals or conservatives, or the
moderates and conservatives in the middle.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>We are talking about the middle population of people who have their own
views and would side with some rational arguments for political, social and
economic development, which assists and reasonably points to a good future, an
organized future, a socially evolutionary future.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal> <o:p></o:p></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal>If you would take George Lakoff’s
book, you will realize that moderates are between the two ends of the
conservatives and liberals, then you still have a political middle.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>What we want to offer the large middle
population of democratic nations is a secular view of social sustainability as
guiding the development of nations.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>As Lakoff has said, “all politics are moral” and morality is always based
on a value system.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The six values
of social sustainability provide a wonderfully neutral position for social,
political and economic evolution.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>We, of course, know enough to realize that any new way of presenting
values will become politicized, and that there will be liberal and conservative
factions within that, but this presentation of the six values of social
sustainability as a new political morality for making decisions for societies
would completely throw both sides off balance if this were to take hold in the
major democratic nations.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal> <o:p></o:p></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal>We see that the work that we are
doing as not just the United States, but applicable to all democratic nations,
whether they are mature and developed democracies, developing mature
democracies, developing democracies or emerging democracies.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>These values have a way of truncating
decades of evolutionary growth and confusion for emerging democracies, so that
they can arrive in a more mature position much sooner than had they gone through
the trial and error process of making mistakes and finding their way through
that.</P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal> <o:p></o:p></P>
<H3 style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><U><FONT color=#008000 size=3>Nurturing family
versus Father modeling</FONT></U></H3>

</SPAN>family model would be more in-line with the six core values [than the]
strict ‘father model.’<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Would you
like to respond to that?</P>

similarity, or this companionship between these two models—the nurturing family
is, of course, the one that allows for evolutions—social, political and economic
evolutions—whereas the traditional model of the ‘strict father model’ is always
looking backwards to the old morality, the old social mores of how families and
children are raised.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>As your nation
has come to the point where it needs to now break out of it’s chrysalis over the
cold winter of it’s maturity, now to emerge as a new, bright and vibrant form of
social and political evolution, we have no disagreement with the person’s
observation about the question.</P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal><B> <o:p></o:p></B></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal><B>MMc:<SPAN

cluster of ideas that are evoked in the brain when a single word or phrase is
spoken.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Words like ‘equality and
freedom’ have very different meanings in the strict father and nurturant family
models.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Lakoff says, “If you are
using your opponent’s language, then you are evoking his ideas and concepts in
your listener’s mind,” and he suggested those that have abdicated the nurturant
model not use the frames of the strict father model, but reframe their ideas and
concepts so that they are distinctive of their position.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>This member asks, “If I try now to
reframe my discussion of societal issues with others around me in the context of
the six core values, what are those frames going to sound like?”</P>

appreciate the hard work that you have committed to this project over the last
10-15 years.</P>

present to the audience a way of listening, reading, seeing, evaluating and
processing their world outside of the box of their own cultural reality.<SPAN

they have experienced, then they tend to read material that reinforces it.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>We have striven to bring new material to
the reading audience to suggest that what they have been doing is fine and
wonderful, but it eventually will become unsuccessful and even lead to the
demise of your societies.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Change is
not always good, but guided and thoughtful change and anticipation of new needs
and perspectives and interpretations of these values is important to take into
consideration.</P>

readers acquaint themselves with a book, an “Impersonal Life.” <SPAN

captivating.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>In chapter 14, there
is a quote, “You do nothing that I do not cause you to do.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>You do it to fulfill my purpose,
although it may seem to you at times that you are acting contrary to my wish and
only to satisfy your own desires.”<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>Would you be willing to comment on this statement?</P>

health, one of the areas that needs to be addressed is our social culture.<SPAN

start to address this, please?</P>

style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The evidence of mental health problems
is historic, meaning that the fact that the person has manifest mental health
problems in their life is evidence of long years of development.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The best way to prevent the emergence of
mental health problems in many individuals is to be born and raised in a
functional, loving, healthy family.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>The social aspects of mental health are primary to the origins of each
individual, how they were raised, how they were valued, how they were loved, and
so on.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>As you see more and more
mental health and behavioral problems in your society, it is evidence that the
family structure is not working, that many more people are being raised in
socially dysfunctional families, or with family members being missing, whether
it is one parent or both parents, or that the children are left to raise
themselves or are bounced from one foster home to another.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal> <o:p></o:p></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal>You can see then, why and how the
six core values and family socialization and enculturation programs that we are
working on are vital to the mental health of nations and whole societies.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>You do not end up with a nation as a
Nazi Germany from people who are happy and fulfilled, do you?<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Certainly not!<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>You end up with people who have a grudge
and a chip on their shoulder, and have an attitude that they are owed something
in life.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>This is why we are
presenting this material in a secular manner, because it is applicable to all
religions and all ethnic cultures.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>This is good material for everyone to live by and to use in their
life.</P>

endocrine system in a person, whether it is the glands in their brain mechanism,
or in their thymus or thyroid or pituitary gland or others.<SPAN

style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>There are those who suffer from mental

are applied to crops and become part of—if you add water to rolled oats, you get
water in the rolled oats—and so if you spray herbicides on crops, then you have
herbicides in the final product that goes to market.</P>

will feel that pain, and so it is a warning to avoid similar situations.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Mind is, however, the mediator of pain,
and for example, those people who have been hypnotized and told not to feel the
pain when somebody sticks a pin through a fold of their skin from one side and
out the other and they do not feel it, then you realize that the mind is a
gateway for allowing the processing of the pain impulse from the point of the
pain source to the brain.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The mind
mechanism is the software that controls whether it is recognized by you or

of the child before adoption, of course, makes a huge difference upon the

after childbirth, the easier it is and more thoroughly that the child can be
included and made an integral part of the family mechanism when they grow

8 or 9, or 10 or 12, and so on, after they have had much life experience and the
formation of their personality has already occurred, can be quite

conscious effort on the part of the child to accept their new family situation
and to not be fearful of being rejected and “thrown into the wolves,” so to
speak, again.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>It is important to

psychiatrists, it is not so much the events of life that causes distress, but
the interpretations of those events that form who we become and how we

the child with kindness, acceptance, appreciation, celebration and recognition,
but also to assist them to interpret their new life in their new family

analysis would not recognize these changes, however, as they are in the deep

deeply involved than your scientists have yet come to appreciate, though they
are mostly in awe of what nature has brought about, whether they are secular

Nebadon gave assent to various individuals and orders of universe celestial
personalities to create a book that was to be given to the mortals of our world,

196 “Papers” within this large book were transmitted mindally to a person called
the “Sleeping Subject.”<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>His
verbalizations during sleep were taken down by a stenographer who later typed up
the words.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Dr. William Sadler, who
was overseeing his care and documenting the validity of what was happening to
this man, was instructed to start a Sunday Afternoon Forum in Chicago and invite
selected friends to study these papers as they were being written, and to
discuss the topics.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Later, the
papers were amended by their celestial writers to address the Forum members’
comments as to their understanding.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>Sometimes the topics were expanded to cover more material to answer their

during the years of 1934-1936, but not published until 1955, due to World War

worlds, previously mortals from other worlds within the Local Universe of
Nebadon, who had passed through the death experience and were partially through
their mansion world-training career, were recruited to be further trained as our

Teacher Corps taught them for approximately 1,000 years so that they knew our
history, languages, idioms, cultures, peculiarities, our successes and our

Melchizedeks gave them a syllabus of weekly lessons to teach to groups of
mortals on Urantia, enough to cover 2 years of classes, on subjects like peace,

ethically, with a social conscience, to raise their level of consciousness and
awareness, to add “weight to their souls,” and of helping them to understand
that they were “spiritual beings, having human experiences,” and that they had a
real purpose for being born as universe citizens.<SPAN

the decisions that they make and the relationships that they form are to prepare
them for the ascension career that continues until they reach the status of pure
spirit, becoming “perfect, as the Father in heaven is perfect.”<SPAN

were needed for the next mission, the revelation and social evolution of
building new, stable and socially sustainable institutions, organizations and

personally requested that a Paradise Son of the Avonal Order be sent to Urantia
to assist Urantian mortals in their planetary evolutionary advancement.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Our Magisterial Son, who goes by the
name of Monjoronson, (and may be known by other names in other parts of the
world,) has not yet incarnated in physical form, but he has been working with
mortals since 2002 in spirit form.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>His main message so far has been how to create social sustainability that
will last for hundreds, or even thousands of years and will correct many of our
social ills and collapsing social structures.<SPAN

political/governmental systems, our economic/financial systems, and our many
social systems, such as healthcare, education, judicial, families, and guidance

on Urantia that is functional, stable or peaceful of great longevity.<SPAN

individual and the family, learning the principles and 3 core values of social
sustainability, so that each and every individual has an improving <U>quality of
life</U> and is <U>allowed to grow</U> into their innate full potential, equally
as any <U>other individual</U>.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>These 3 core values contain the universal needs of all peoples and
currently are not being met even in our democratic government, founded on
“<I>life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness</I>” of our “Declaration of
Independence.”<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>As these individuals
and families mature, they will take those vital concepts into their communities,
societies, organizations, and corporations and eventually into their modified,
complemental form of democracy, and the total culture of their
civilization.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>This is not a small
project and will take hundreds of years to complete but necessary to keep our
civilization from collapsing.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>To
assist us in this great societal evolution, we have been, and will continue to
be ably mentored by all the celestial help that is needed, from all levels of
our Creator Son’s Universe and even by our Eternal Father, through the fragment
of himself that he has placed in each of us as a pilot and guide, our faithful
